Terms & Conditions
INDIVIDUAL SINGING LESSONS
Please note terms and conditions for music lessons. Payment will be accepted as confirmation of your agreement to the terms and conditions within the contract.
Children and adult lessons are scheduled during school term times (the number per term depends on the length of the term).
Any lesson missed without prior notification or with less than 72 hours notice, the lesson is forfeit. Any lesson cancelled with more than 72 hours notice (for example sickness, medical appointment), every effort will be made to make up the lesson within the term, but if unable to do so, it will not be carried forward to the next term.
Any lesson missed due to the tutor’s absence, every effort will be made to make up the lesson within the term. If unachievable, then a credit will be added to the next term’s invoice.
Invoices will be sent directly by the tutor and may also include reimbursement for music purchased on behalf of a student, or for examination entry fees.
Invoicing will take place termly with each full term’s fees due before lessons commence. Failure to make payment will result in the student being withdrawn from lessons and a full term’s fees will be payable in lieu of notice.
In some instances, I may purchase sheet music for pupils. This shall be agreed with parents/guardians in advance and the associated fees shall be invoiced as they occur during the term, such invoice to be paid by parents/guardians within 7 days.
Should a student wish to withdraw from lessons, a full term’s written notice must be given so that it is received before the end of the previous term at the end of which lessons are to cease. (for example, notice should be given before the October half-term if lessons are to cease at the end of the Autumn term.)
If notice is not received before a half-term break the whole of the following full term's fees shall be payable.
Tuition is given on the strict understanding that the student won’t receive tuition from another in this subject.
Examinations
Students may be entered for singing exams at various exam boards. These take place towards the end of term dependent on the pupils’ goals and whether I consider them ready to take the exam.
In the run up to an exam, it may be advisable for pupils to attend additional lessons and mock exams to prepare.
I will book pupils into exams after discussing and agreeing this with parents/guardians, and shall invoice for entrance fees as they occur during the term, such invoice to be paid within 7 days.
